At the time, Michele was pregnant with her first child, Ever, and addressed the controversy in a lengthy Instagram statement. “If it was my privileged position and my perspective that caused me to be perceived as insensitive or inappropriate at times or if it was just my immaturity and unnecessary difficulty, I apologize for my behavior and any pain it caused.” she wrote. “We can all grow and change and I have definitely used these last few months to reflect on my own shortcomings. … I listened to these criticisms and I am learning and although I am very sorry, I will be better in the future with this experience ”.

“It didn’t matter if you were young or old, black or white, it’s kind of their world,” added the source.
