Sad news for Chhattisgarh, Col Biplab Tripathi martyred along with family in Maoist attack

Raigarh: The eldest son of Raigad’s senior journalist Subhash, Colonel Viplav 40 in the army, daughter-in-law Anuja 38 years old, grandson Abir 5 years old, was ambushed by Maoists. His entire family including Colonel Viplav was martyred in this attack. This incident has happened in Manipur today i.e. Saturday at around 11:30.

According to the information that is coming out, Colonel Viplav was posted in Kuga, Manipur. He had gone out with his convoy of three vehicles to inspect the check post as usual, but today his family was also present with him. When the colonel was returning after inspecting the check post, the Maoists ambushed him.

The first car in the convoy of the Colonel’s vehicles was blown up by the blast, while the middle car contained the Colonel himself and his family. In such a situation, after the blast, the Maoists started firing mortars and bullets on both the remaining vehicles. In this attack, Colonel Viplav and his wife were martyred on the spot while their grandson was seriously injured, but he also died during treatment.

Senior journalist Subhash Tripathi’s younger son is also an officer in the army like his elder brother and is posted in Manipur. He had reached Raigad a day earlier. On receiving information about the incident, he immediately left for Manipur. The mortal remains of Colonel Viplav and his martyred family will be brought to Raigad tomorrow by special Army aircraft. As soon as the news of this incident came to light, the house of senior journalist Subhash Tripathi located at Handi Chowk in Raigad, besides the entire journalists of Raigad, there was an influx of elite people of the city.
