Tulsi Vivah 2021: The Ekadashi date of Kartik month is called Devotthan Ekadashi. On the Shukla Paksha Ekadashi of Kartik month, Shri Hari wakes up from the sleep of Chaturmas, that is why this Ekadashi is also called Devuthani Ekadashi. From this day itself, auspicious work like marriage and other auspicious work starts in Hindu religion. In worship on the day of Devotthan Ekadashi, after reciting the legend of Tulsi marriage, Tulsi Mangalashtak is recited. By doing this, Tulsi Mata and Lord Shaligram fulfill all the wishes.

For Tulsi Vivah, the devotees make preparations for Tulsi Vivah with full enthusiasm. Tulsi Mata is married in the same way as the marriage ceremony. According to the Panchang, this year Devotthan Ekadashi is on 14th November and Tulsi Vivah will be organized on 15th November (Monday). Ekadashi Tithi will end on November 15 at 06:39 in the morning and Dwadashi Tithi will start. Dwadashi date will remain till 08:01 am on November 16 (Tuesday).

The Tulsi plant is kept on a post in the middle of the courtyard. Mehndi, Mauli thread, flowers, sandalwood, vermilion, items of honey, rice and sweets are kept in front of Tulsi ji as worship material. The marriage rites of Tulsi Mata and Lord Shaligram are completed with duly chanting, song and music. There is a mythological belief that marrying Tulsi leads to a happy married life.
