New Delhi: The election battle has also started in Uttar Pradesh including Goa, Manipur, Uttarakhand and Punjab. The Election Commission has announced the dates for the assembly elections in these states. With this, the fragrance has increased from political circles to the common man.

This is the story of the first election of Ayodhya, which was then known as Faizabad. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru took the reins as the first Prime Minister of independent India and the political command of Uttar Pradesh came in the hands of Govind Vallabh Pant, whose heart always beat for the farmers and the poor.

Then there was no such leader in UP who could cut his point. But politics in India was beginning to take a new shape. Many big leaders were shunning the Congress, among them Acharya Narendra Dev, a socialist thinker. Then 13 MLAs of the Socialist faction had resigned from the UP Assembly.

After this the by-election was announced, in which Faizabad became the hot seat. The matter is in 1948, the date for the by-election to the Faizabad assembly seat has been declared. Congress fielded Hindu saint Baba Raghav Das as its candidate against socialist leader Acharya Narendra Dev. Born in Maharashtra, Baba Raghav Das’s Karmabhoomi was Eastern UP. For the first time in this election, the issue of temple construction in Ayodhya became a big issue. Govind Vallabh Pant said many times in his election speeches that Narendra Dev does not believe in Ram.

Elections were held and Acharya Narendra Dev lost by just 1,312 votes. Baba Raghav Das won by making Ram temple a big issue. However, after the victory, Raghav Das repeatedly told in public forums that Narendra Dev was a better candidate than him. In this way, only after independence, Shri Ganesh of Ayodhya had become in the politics of vote.

Elections in UP will be held in seven phases. In Punjab, Uttarakhand and Goa, polling will be held in one phase on February 14. Voting will be held in Manipur in two phases. The result of all the states will come on March 10.

Due to Corona, the Election Commission has imposed many restrictions. Under this, the Election Commission has issued guidelines. Road shows, padyatras, cycle or vehicle rallies have been banned in the election states. Apart from this, the campaign curfew will remain in force from 8 pm to 8 am. This ban will remain in force till January 15.
