New Delhi: It has been a cold winter in North India these days. The winter season continues from Jammu and Kashmir to Rajasthan. If the Meteorological Department (MID) is to be believed, then today the minimum temperature may drop further in Northwest and Central India. Light rain is very likely at isolated places over Bihar, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, parts of Marathwada and South Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands today.
Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells may occur over South Chhattisgarh, parts of Vidarbha and Southeast Madhya Pradesh. Light to moderate rain is possible over Chhattisgarh, remaining parts of East Madhya Pradesh and isolated parts of Jharkhand, Interior Odisha and North Telangana.
On January 11, there is a possibility of rain and lightning in most of the districts of Bihar. After this, there is a possibility of cold wave once again in Bihar. At the time of Makar Sankranti, it will be freezing cold once again in Bihar.
On the other hand, light to moderate rain and snow will continue over parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Intermittent rain and snowfall are continuing in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. It is snowing continuously in the high altitude areas. On the other hand, snow removal work is going on on Gangotri and Yamunotri roads. Four feet thick layer of snow has frozen in Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham. Even in the inaccessible areas, the connectivity of many villages is cut off.
The continuous snowfall in the mountains and the continuous rain for several days in the plains has increased the cold. Not only in Delhi NCR, the cold has increased due to rain in the whole of North India. Due to rain in Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, the temperature has dropped by several degrees.
According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of western disturbance is over now. From today the sky will be clear. Although fog can be bothersome. The temperature will drop rapidly. The minimum temperature will come down to 6 degree Celsius in the next one week.
