Birju Maharaj, who was awarded Padma Vibhushan, was admitted to Saket Hospital in Delhi, he had a heart attack. The whole country is saddened by his passing like this. Pandit Birju Maharaj had a lot of love for dance and songs as well as Bollywood. Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff were his favorite actors. He had a deep relationship with both, on which he himself also spoke. Madhuri also considered Birju Maharaj as her guru. When Madhuri also heard this news, she was also shocked. The actress has also written an emotional post remembering Pandit ji on Instagram. Jackie Shroff has also prayed for his soul to rest in peace.

Birju Maharaj) and wrote, ‘He was a legend, but he had childlike innocence. He was my mentor, but also my friend. He taught me the intricacies of dancing and acting. He never fails to make me laugh with his funny anecdotes. He has left behind saddened by fans and students, but he has also left a legacy that we will all carry on. Thank you Maharajji for everything you taught me in dancing with humility, elegance and grace.’

Panditji had great affection for Madhuri
Pandit Birju Maharaj also had immense affection for his disciple Madhuri Dixit. In a conversation with our colleague ‘ETimes’, Panditji had said, ‘Madhuri Dixit is one of my most favourites. She considers me a guru. Even today Madhuri calls me frequently and asks when will I come to Mumbai. Whenever I go to Mumbai, she asks me to meet her.
