Walmart, the world’s largest retailer, has now invited select Indian sellers to apply to join the Walmart Marketplace. Walmart is a curated seller that serves over 120 million US buyers each month. The initiative follows more than 20 years of Walmart’s association with Indian exporters. India is already one of Walmart’s top sourcing markets, and the company has set a target of US$10 billion of exports from India every single year by 2027.
Walmart is looking for new sellers from India as part of a global drive to attract international sellers and expand the marketplace’s product assortment. Select sellers will be able to take advantage of Walmart Fulfillment Services, which will help them streamline their operations and manage promotions and feedback, along with platform tools to access Walmart’s warehousing and delivery infrastructure in the US.

At the same time, Rajnish Kumar, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Flipkart, said that the opportunity to easily reach global consumers could be transformative for Indian sellers. He said that excellent ‘Make in India’ brands can expand their global network, learn best export practices and diversify their product ranges in collaboration with Walmart as they move the world forward.
