New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that a statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose will be installed at India Gate. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has given information about this by tweeting. He wrote in his tweet that at a time when the whole country is celebrating the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, I am happy to inform that his grand statue made of granite will be installed at India Gate. This would be a symbol of India’s indebtedness to them.
The PM further said that till the grand statue of Netaji Bose is completed, his hologram statue will be present at the same place. I will unveil the hologram statue on January 23, the birth anniversary of Netaji.
Let us tell you that Prime Minister Modi has made this announcement at a time when there is a dispute going on at India Gate regarding Amar Jawan Jyoti. Actually, the government has decided to merge the Amar Jawan Jyoti with the flame of the National War Memorial. Many opposition parties including Congress are opposing the central government regarding this decision.
Significantly, Amar Jawan Jyoti was established in the memory of the Indian soldiers who were martyred in the Indo-Pak war of 1971. India was victorious in this war and Bangladesh was formed. It was inaugurated on 26 January 1972 by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
