LG to launch upgradeable devices for better user experience

Seoul: LG Electronics on Tuesday said it will introduce upgradeable home appliances to better meet the diverse needs of consumers. The tech giant said that users will be able to easily update their home devices through the smart home ThinQ application.

LG said it will initially roll out six upgradeable products including dryers, refrigerators and dish washers and expand its lineup of UP appliances to 20 this year, with the ultimate aim of making each LG product upgradeable in the future. will increase.

According to the Yonhap news agency report, the upgrade will be based on consumer behavior, big data and consumer feedback. This will be available through software updates and through installing accessories and modular equipment in existing devices, the company said.

Ryu Jae-chul, head of LG’s home appliance and air solutions division, said LG’s new plan aims to “deliver new consumer experiences with products that become smarter, newer and more comfortable over time.”
