Ingredients for Tricolor Idli
175 grams rice
75 grams washed urad dal
10 grams salt
15 g carrot puree
25 grams boiled spinach puree
How to make Tricolor Idli
To make Tricolor Idli, first of all, soak lentils and rice for 2 hours before. After this, grind it in a grinder and make a smooth paste of it. Now take out this batter from the grinder and keep it to rise for 12 hours. When leavened from this batter, divide the batter into 3 parts and add carrot puree in one part and spinach puree in the other part. This will give orange and green color to the idli. Now pour red batter then white batter and then green batter in the idli mold. Steam it for about 20 minutes. After making idli, serve it with coconut chutney or green coriander chutney.
