New Delhi: The downtrend in the stock market continues. On Tuesday (January 25) on the second day of this trading week, a big fall has been registered in the stock market. This is the sixth consecutive day that the stock market has registered a fall. Today again the stock market opened on the red mark.
The 30-share Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) opened with a loss of 808 points at 56,683, while the Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) slipped 232 points to start trading at 16,917.
Sensex has broken 1000 points as soon as the market opened. It is trading at 56,654. Investors have suffered a loss of Rs 4.5 lakh crore. Yesterday the market cap was Rs 260.44 lakh crore which has become Rs 255.5 lakh crore today.
The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex fell 333 points to open at 57,158 today. This level was its upper level in the first hour. Later it made a low of 56,409. Out of 30 stocks of Sensex, 6 stocks are in gain and remaining 24 are in decline.
On Monday also the stock market closed on the red mark. Sensex slipped 1546 points to close at 57,491 level. At the same time, the last day was very bad for the Nifty index and it lost 468 points to close at 17,149 level.
