Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced that e-passports will be introduced in 2022-23 to facilitate travel abroad. In this, the information of the passport holder (E-Passport In India) will be stored in an electronic chip in a secure way. This will make the process easier and more transparent for both the government and passengers. These passports will also be at par with international civil aviation standards. Also, movement at all immigration posts in the world will become easier.
