Up Elections 2022: Congress will not field its candidate in front of Akhilesh and Shivpal

New Delhi: The echo of the assembly elections is visible in the country’s largest state, Uttar Pradesh, about which all the parties are campaigning. SP, BSP and Congress are working day and night to give competition to BJP.

Meanwhile, the round of nomination of candidates is going on. The Congress has refused to field a candidate in front of SP President Akhilesh Yadav and his uncle Shivpal. Akhilesh Yadav is in the fray from Karhal and Shivpal Jaswant Nagar seat. The Congress is seeing both the uncle and nephew as a walkover.

The Congress had declared Gyanvati Yadav as its candidate for the Karhal assembly seat a few days ago, but on Tuesday, the party refused to nominate her. According to the National Secretary of Congress, the party will not field its candidate in front of Akhilesh Yadav and Shivpal Yadav. In both the seats, the Congress has made up its mind to support the SP.

The Samajwadi Party has not been fielding candidates in front of the Gandhi family for the last many Lok Sabha elections. In view of this, the Congress may have decided not to field a candidate from Karhal-Jaswantnagar. SP has given support to Sonia Gandhi from Rae Bareli and Rahul Gandhi from Amethi several times.
